It is with great pride and privilege that I welcome you to Government College of Engineering, Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi and I hope you enjoy visiting our wonderful campus. Our institution is a learning community that seeks success for each student as we strive to deepen our core values of: discipline, life-long learning, respect and responsibility.

The Faculty at our Government College of Engineering, Bhawanipatna is committed to high expectations for all students and providing the best possible learning environment. Parents are valued partners in our educational system and are encouraged to visit the college, consult with the Faculty members and participate in college functions.

We provide training on communication skills, soft skills and aptitude for our students to do well in interviews and in the career of our students' choice. More and more Companies are visiting our campus to recruit our students year after year. I assure you that our students will leave our institution with job in one hand and a degree in another hand.

Brief Biodata

Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Dash is currently working as a Principal at the Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi. Previously, he worked as a Professor and Head of the Electrical  Engineering Department at the Government College Of Engineering, Keonjhar, Odisha, from 2018 to 2024. Before this, Dr Dash worked as a Professor and HOD at SRM University, Chennai, in the EEE Department. He has more than 28 years of teaching and research experience. His area of specialization is electric power systems, Optimization techniques, Smart Grid, Energy Management, Power system operation and Control, and AI. He has guided 41 Ph.D. students, was involved in consulting and research projects in India, and published over 285 manuscripts in peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed journals and International conferences.

He has visited as a visiting professor at (i) Le Havre University, France, 2019; (ii) UPEC, University Paris, France, 2023; and (iii)   Francois Rabelais University, POLYTECH, Tours, France. He also visited as a research scholar at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA.

He recently received the Narayan Memorial Best Principal Award among engineering colleges for 2024 from ISTE.

He has worked as a  Program Chair/General Chair of many international conferences, such as CISPSSE 2020, ICRERA 2016,2017, 2018, ICICA 204-2018, and AIECES 2015-2019, and has visited many countries, such as the USA, UK, France, Spain, Singapore, and Honk Kong, to deliver guest lectures, chair sessions, present research papers, and conduct International workshops from 2009 to 2019.

He is the author of three books and has published over 30 chapters in the Springer series. He obtained his PhD from Anna University, Chennai, in 2006 and his master's degree from UCE, Burla Odisha, in 1996. He is a member of IEEE, Institution of Engineers(India), and a life member of ISTE.
